 About the project

Queen Victoria School was opened in 1908 for the children of UK armed forces personnel who are Scottish, served in Scotland or are part of a Scottish regiment. The School itself is part of a 45 acre estate located in Perthshire, Scotland.

Trenchard House is one of four boarding hoses within the Dunblane estate, with 150 rooms on 3 floors it is the perfect setting for students studying at the School. The projects main aim is to modernise the boarding accommodation, offering a homely, modernised feel for the students.

Our work

Working in partnership with Bell Group Westend Flooring were contracted to remove and replace all floor coverings, wall panelling and roof tiles to create a contemporary living space for the students:

Creating a stylish look Westend Flooring installed a mix of colours from the Bioclad range including the Vivid Blue, Pastel Oyster and Vivid Orange. These were chosen to provide a hygienic clean finish for all wall coverings to the accommodations 16 bathrooms and shower rooms.

An Almond Altro Fortis Titanium PVCu protective wall panelling and trims were fitted to the walls of the buildings corridors on all three floors creating a clean fresh look.

Hydro Board Armstrong ceiling panels to the ground and second floor bathrooms fitted to provide sound proofing from the floors above, and thermal conductivity.

We also removed existing trims and adhesive from the bathroom floors and replaced with Altro Flexiflow Grip Plus self smoothing flow, this product demonstrates a high structural resilience, flexibility and durability. This provides an easy to clean, reduced slip surface that can be refreshed during its life cycle.
